For this matter her deputy, Thomas Tayebwa is going to take up what was supposed to be her office.
“Madam is not well already and the office will not do her any good since she was too close to the deceased. Jacob’s death has not treated her well, you all saw, she wants something that keeps her away from his memories,” the source said.
Among reportedly now wants the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and his staff to move to the 6th floor that houses the Offices of the Speaker while she retains the 5th floor that should have been Tayebwa’s.
Meanwhile, some people have found this rather sarcastic because she didn’t stay away from his position but she doesn’t want to sit in his office.
“Wow, the fond memories only resurrect in the speakers office(room) and not in the speaker’s position? What about sitting in that chair (chairing) position of parliamentary sessions? May RH Oulanya RIP,” a one Aisha said.
“So will she also change the speaker’s chair in Parliament too? Look she shouldn’t have contested for the Speaker position if she’s so fond of her predecessor.” a one Mushabe said.
On the other hand, some people sided with her saying it can be hard moving on sometimes.
“And people really deal with grief differently. Some people are traumatized by sights of where their dear ones frequented, their clothes or photos. To make a mountain out of such a molehill is not fair,” a one Ibrahim said.
