Speaking during an interview on NTV, Nyanjura said that she’s been able to see Idi Amin through Museveni.
She revealed that she was born in the pre-Museveni regime. Although she never saw Amin who is described as a brutal dictator by records, Nyanjura said that at least Museveni has kept Amin’s legacy alive.
Nyanjura further rallied the people to unite and take charge of their national affairs. This is because everyone is not safe even those working with the regime citing former IGP, Kale Kayihura.
“I was born before Mr. Museveni came into power and I did not know Amin but I have seen Amin through Mr. Museveni. Mr Museveni has said before that he is the master of violence.
I have been arrested over 20 times and I’ve been to Luzira twice. Even Kayihura did not think he would be arrested. The reality is that no one is safe and it is wrong to refuse to speak up because you think you’re safe. Let us be humane,” she said.
Further, Nyanjura also questioned why most political prisoners are from the central region. She wondered whether it is a coincidence or if it is premeditated.
Apparently, Museveni is in charge of all institutions in the country, that’s why impunity is so high. It’s the reason why soldiers are seen beating up the likes of MPs such as Hon Betty Nambooze.
She further said that the constitution has been severally abused and it’s time for the citizens to regain control.
