Singer Weasel Manizo, the surviving member of the Radio & Weasel duo was emotional as he said that he thought the world had deserted him. This followed his sold-out concert at Hotel Africana last week.
People turned up in huge numbers to support the singer. It should be noted that this was the first Goodlyf concert since the death of Radio in 2018. Even their group’s last concert dubbed 10 Years of Radio was held at the same venue.
Speaking to the press, the singer cried. He said that he thought people had deserted him and left him. He thought that nobody loved him because of all the struggles he’s been through ever since the death of his singing partner.
On top of that, he was doubtful whether the people would turn up to support him. However, he was shown massive love as people flocked to the Memories of Goodlyf show.
Weasel said that they were even added more time beyond the normal time and fans still stayed back to watch him perform.
The Ntunga singer said that he hadn’t even completed the set of songs he had scheduled to perform. He only sang a quarter of them.
“I’m so emotional because people showed me a lot of love and put my doubts to bed. After the death of my brother, I thought people had deserted me. I thought I have always been alone but they showed me a lot of love. And for that, I’m so grateful to them,” he said.
Weasel also thanked his fellow musicians who came through to support him. He added that those who didn’t come through due to their schedule sent him messages of comfort and support. He’s planning to organize an after party to appreciate these musicians.
