I Would Have Died If Not For Dr. Byabashaija – Kakwenza

Government critic and author, Kakwenza Rukirabashaija has said he would have died if not for Dr. Johnson Byabashaija. He thanked him for instilling discipline among his officers.

He noted that the way he entered Kitalya prison is not the same way he came out. This is because he got the treatment he needed. He ran to his Twitter account where to hip praises on the Commissioner General of Prisons.

“Let me thank Dr. Johnson Byabashaija. Surely, they treated me with utmost dignity. How I entered Kitalya isn’t how I got out. There was an improvement and if it weren’t them, I would have died there.”

He said the release is not as exciting as people may think. According to him, this is like half freedom because he is not as free.

“I cannot say that I am happy to be released. Yes, I have been released, I can eat whatever I want, I can move anywhere I want but I am not happy because this is like getting half-baked freedom,” he said.

Kakwenza was arrested on 28th December 2021 for apparently writing content that was insulting the first son. He however says in no way is he sorry for his writings and he is going to start from where he had actually stopped.

Meanwhile, he revealed that when he sought medication from most hospitals, they turned him away.

Apparently, they were afraid of being dragged into his mess with the government. Later though, he was attended to and he is slowly healing from his wounds.
