IGP Ochola has warned campaigning candidates against creating chaos and violating Electoral Commission guidelines and the ministry of health SOPs.
The IGP said they will not tolerate lawlessness and hooliganism in the name of political activity. He said this while addressing the country on state security on different television stations.
IGP Ochola also assured the country that the police will deal with any kind of hooliganism properly. He used the same platform and warned people who use social media and traditional media to instigate strikes and unrest among people.
He added that the government will not accept this in the county. They will decisively handle this matter as the law demands.
Martin Ochola also talked about the way politicians are carrying on with their campaigns and how it is going to cost the country in relation to COVID 19. This address could not go down without a review on the Kyagulanyi arrest chaos.
He assured the public that investigations are under way. But he noted that there are some people who are interfering with these investigations.
The protests happened about 3 weeks ago and up to now there has not been any substantial statement from the police about what really happened. Is it incompetence? Is something not working out?
There is no denying that the report has taken a lot of time and if the IGP says investigations are still underway it means the country still has to wait.
