Normally when a person resorts to doing a lot of charity activities in an area, people always translate it into gathering political capital.
Word had started circulating over whether the singer is eyeing to replace the area woman MP Hon Joyce Bagala who is embattled with NUP. The Nkuweki singer however said that she’s been doing charity there since 1998. And if she wanted to enter politics, it’s something she would have done a long time ago.
However, she does this out of a charitable heart that loves kids. Besides, she has an NGO that she partners with which funds many of the charities.
“I love kids naturally and helping them is part of my DNA. It’s not that I’m eying any political seat. If I wanted that, I think I would have joined it already because I have been in charity in Mityana since 1998. I also have an NGO called Gather for Children that I launched in 2006. There are also other people I team up with who collect their resources and we go out there to give them to women and children,” the singer said.
Meanwhile, the singer is gearing up for her concert slated for 26th July at Kampala Serena Hotel. She told fans to expect a timeless and memorable experience.
Iryn said that if time allows, she will perform over 30 of her songs and people should endeavor to come on time as gates will open at 6 pm.
