One On One Interview With Hajjati Faridah Nambi Aspiring Kampala Woman MP

The political tides are starting to take shape in the country, and most of the candidates have already declared their intentions in various constituencies, municipalities, and districts. Felix Oketcho from Newslex Point caught up with Hajjati Faridah Nambi about her plans as she eyes Kampala seat as a woman legislator.

Give us a brief about your self

Am Hajjati Faridah Nambi the founder of Nambi Children Initiative a local non – government organisation that was registered in October 2006, National Children Thanksgiving Gala, Nambi Children’s choir, Nambi Africa Talk show and Union of Muslim women and organization of Uganda.

What are your plans for the people of Kampala?

To improve household incomes, skilling youth and women, lobbying for improvement in the roads infrastructure, improve the drainage systems and community clean-ups

Why are you the right person for this Legislative job?

I have done voluntary community services for the education of orphans and vulnerable children in slum ghetto areas in Kampala

Kampala has got lot of challenges, what are you ought to start with?

Household incomes, skilling youth, and women, setting up skilling centre for youth, women to learn vocational skills to start their own jobs.

Mentoring women to fight gender based violence in kampala

What have you been doing before to create that vote of confidence?

Working with all groups of people avoiding being partisan.

Which party are you coming under?

National resistance movement

What are some of the major community activities you have been carrying out?

Education of orphans, skilling, and mentoring women.
