There is fear that we may be getting into another wave but few people are taking precautions as they should. However, Dr. Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health said they will not be considering a lockdown as the previous two years.
“However, as a country, we are well prepared to respond and save lives than before. We have no indication of travel restrictions or lockdown in the current circumstances. We will optimize the existing control & mitigation tools at personal & community levels,” Aceng said last week.
As of yesterday, the ministry of health confirmed that 116 cases were attributed to Covid-19.
“Results of COVID-19 tests done on 10 June 2022 confirm 116 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are 166,237. The breakdown of the new cases is:115 Alerts and Contacts: Kampala (69), Gulu (20), Wakiso (14), Lira (3), Mbarara (3), Mukono (1), Rubirizi (1), Oyam (1), Mityana (1), Kikuube (1), Kanungu (1),01 Truck driver from Amuru.”
What does this flu and cough mean for the country though? Currently, the MoH, has told the Ugandans to take precautions. However, you can hardly find any person wearing a mask lately, washing hands.
In fact, all the SOPs are no longer considered in many public places. At this rate though, an intentional step should perhaps be taken before things get out of hand.
