It seems like musician Priscilla Zawedde aka Azawi is becoming a full-blown socio-political activist. She has now turned her guns on fellow singer Eddy Kenzo saying that it’s a shame what the Big Talent boss has turned into.
Azawi has been a vocal voice about the different aspects of life in the country in the past few months. She’s on different social media platforms advocating for good governance, service delivery, and potential regime change.
A while ago, the Masavu singer called out several artists, especially the big ones. She said that it’s a pity that these have continued to be silent about the different issues that press Ugandans yet it’s from these same people that they attained their star status.
A number of artists however have not welcomed her message in good faith. They believe that she’s trying to guilt-trap them.
Among these was BET Award winner, Eddy Kenzo. The Stamina singer said that he’s more mature than the Swangz Avenue singer. This means that he’s seen a lot of things that she’s yet to see.
Therefore, she has the right to support whatever she wants. On the other hand, Kenzo said that he can’t advocate for protestors who he knows are going to loot people’s businesses among other things.
Apparently, Azawi took to X to reveal that it’s a pity that someone she used to look up to has turned into a mafia. On top of being silent about people’s plight, he’s now misinterpreting her statements and setting her up.
Read her statement below;
“It’s heartbreaking seeing someone you used to look up to turn into a Mafia. Someone who was relentless on issues concerning people become the apologist of the oppressor. Now you’re misinterpreting and setting up those using their voices. Ffe batusibe gwe Ovimbe mu banene. Kiruma,” she said.
