However, it seems to have less money than it should be having and making compared to other countries.
According to Jacob Omutuuze, the Ugandan music industry has no rules and regulations at all. Artists do whatever they can when they want and no one says a thing about it.
He said that different musicians can even decide to have a concert on the same date which leaves someone in losses and the other person in profits which is unfair.
The politicians said for the industry to do well, there have to be rules and regulations. With so many people earning a living from it, there must be rules of some sort.
Omutuuze said some musicians also deserve to be punished when they don’t do something right and that will humble them and show them how well they need to be behaved.
“The Ugandan music industry has so many talented people and employs the most young people. But it is not doing very well because it doesn’t have rules and regulations. I think there should be some sort of rules and regulations. Once an artiste breaks the rules, he gets punished. That will put the industry to the whole next level,” he said.
