She released a dossier on Friday reaching out to the younger people expressing her interest in the transformation of Kampala City.
‘’If you work with KCCA you put up a program and mobilize all your colleagues to beautify Kampala, to make it the most beautiful city on the African Continent because it can be, with the greenery, flowers, and clean buildings,’’ she said.
Kampala Smart City initiative intends to involve improvements in garbage collections and management around the city. KCCA launched it on March 28, 2021, by Ms. Dorothy Kissaka, the KCCA Executive Director.
The initiative also involves round-the-clock garbage collection and better enforcement of regulations against littering and garbage dumping.
Mrs. Museveni revealed that with the initiative, Kampala may thrive with good, clean offices and clean buildings. She said this would be good because tourists wouldn’t find ugly pictures of Kampala and go away envying Ugandans for living in the “Garden of Eden”.
In the early 2000s, Pastor Patience Rwabogo joined a campaign ‘’Kampala the City of God’’. Apparently, this was to pray for the transformation of the city.
This is due to the high crime rates and the broken infrastructure.
