Alongside most of the divisional mayors, the ‘Wale Wale‘ Hit maker visited areas of Makindye and Nakawa while interacting with them. He also had a chance to analyze issues with Mayor Ali Nganda of Makindye and Ronnie Balimwezo of Nakawa division.
“I started my consultations as I prepare for the Lord mayorship of Kampala with visits to Kampala division mayors. I visited Makindye and Nakawa and had good interactions with Mayor Ali Nganda of Makindye and Mayor Ronnie Balimwezo of Nakawa.
I appreciate the time the mayors gave us amidst their tight schedules. We discussed the status of their city divisions in terms of contribution to the city revenues, their populations, the underlying political undertones, the impact of the new amendments to the KCCA act and how we can use it to lift our people out of poverty. As I’ve always said, I told the Mayors that I want to lead the city with solutions not lamentations and in consultation with fellow leaders,” his post reads.
I’m happy to report that from today’s interactions, the TEAM picked quite alot for our manifesto. As the DP mobiliser, I’m concerned at the small number of councillors DP has both at divisions and the city. I promised mayors that we are going to improve these numbers. With my leadership, we shall work hard to have more DP councillors for a better city.
My consultations will continue with the divisions of Kawempe and Lubaga, I also intend to visit CITYHALL soon as I add ideas about how we shall have a better city.” Jose Chameleone stated.
