Jose Chameleone Unveils Uganda Music Superstar’s Association Constitution

Legendary musician Jose Chameleone yesterday unveiled the constitution the newly created Uganda Superstar’s Association will operate by.

Jose Chameleone together with other musicians who claim to be the superstars of Ugandan music last week unveiled a new organization known as Uganda Superstars Association.

He said this organization is the umbrella for all the best musicians in the country, especially those they consider Superstars.

They subsequently elected Leone Island boss as it’s president due to his experience in the music industry both locally and internationally.

However, Chameleone and his new organization have met stiff resistance. There is widespread criticism from some section of the public and UMA.

These artists allege that it is greed and selfishness that is fueling Chameleone’s new organization.

This was after claims that the government plans to disburse a big financial COVID 19 relief package to artistes in Uganda.

UMA has been holding numerous meetings in the previous days to counter Chameleone’s new group because it’s a threat to UMA’s authority and monopoly.

Chameleone however unveiling the constitution of his organization reiterated his earlier statements that his group has not come to compete with anyone.

He said that they want to work for the good of Ugandan music. They are also willing to work with other organizations.

“I have been receiving a lot of criticism from different people saying that I’m a problem to the music industry. However this is not true. Uganda Superstars Association has not come to compete with anyone. We feel that we are the biggest stakeholders in this industry and yet we earn less from it. We are therefore going to work for the best interests of this industry. And also willing to partner with other organizations. I therefore unveil our constitution to you and it was not written by me as most people might allege.” Chameleon said.

Some big artistes have however come out to say they won’t join Chameleon’s group. They said they will continue subscribing to UMA.

They say it’s hypocritical for Chameleone to desert UMA, an umbrella he helped form to found another group.
