Joy For Whole Country As Four Colombian Children Rescued From Jungle 5 Weeks After Plane Crash

During the early hours of May 1, a Cessna 206 carrying seven individuals in the Colombian jungle of Araracuara, in the Amazons province to San Jose del Guaviare in Guaviare province issued a distress signal due to engine failure.

The siblings were rescued by the military near the border between Colombia’s Caqueta and Guaviare provinces close to the crash site of the small aircraft.

However three adults including the pilot and the children’s mother Magdalena Mucutuy lost their lives in the crash and were found dead inside the plane.

The four siblings-three girls and one boy and a baby who is now 12 months old managed to survive the impact.

Narcizo Mucutuy the grand father of the four children was delighted upon hearing about the rescue of his grandchildren and while addressing reporters he said,” As the grandfather to my grandchildren who disappeared in the jungle at this moment I am happy.”
