The three-day event runs under a theme ‘Crisis and Opportunity: Mapping the Geopolitical Importance of Africa.
As it is in its fourth edition, they have convened this year’s event in partnership with the French Embassy.
Other partners include Makerere University, UN Women, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Intitut de Relations Internationales et Strategiques (IRIS) among others.
They also expect all representatives from all conference partners to attend the opening ceremony.
The event will also bring together researchers, representatives from civil society, international organizations, governments and entrepreneurs.
Alfred Onek, the communication and press attache at French Embassy in Uganda said this year’s event will be of hybrid format.
He said unlike previous events, physical sessions will be taking place like at the University from Makerere Auditorium, and virtually on twitter spaces.
Over 80 local and international speakers will discuss more than 15 topics of interest. Some of the topics on the agenda include the future of education, Re-imaging Higher Education for the post-Covid era.
Other topics also include vaccine nationalism and diplomacy in the times of the pandemic, climate change and adaptation strategies, among others.
On top of the three days of debate, there will be entertainment, photo exhibition,poetry, dance and drama.
