Kataka FC Keep Promotion Dreams Alive After Beating Ndejje University

Kataka FC shined some light on their chances of promotion to the Uganda Premier League when they overcame Ndejje at the Arena of Visions yesterday.

As the FUFA Big League approaches a close, each result is crucial for the promotion-chasing group. It consists of four teams which are Kataka FC, Blacks Power FC, Kyetume FC, and Maroons FC.

Kataka managed to secure a 2-0 win by Hassan Wandenga and Swamadu Okur’s goals in either half.

Wandenga opened the match’s scores in the 14th minute before Okur doubled the advantage in the second half.

With the win, Kataka FC went straight to the top of the table with 35 points, leading second-placed Blacks Power who drew 2-2 at Proline on goal difference.

Both Kataka and Blacks Power have a goal difference of 16 but the former has scored 33 goals, one better than the latter. Kyetume FC who thumped Nyamityobora FC 6-0 in Mbarara follow closely in third place on 34 points while Maroons FC in fourth have 32 points.

As for Kataka’s last two fixtures, they are set to happen at home. They will be facing fellow promotion contenders Kyetume FC and Blacks Power FC.
