The Katikiro Of Buganda And Bobi Wine Meet At Masaka Vigil

On Sunday, the NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and the katikiro of Buganda Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga met.

This happened at a vigil held in Nzinzi , Lwengo district. Both leaders had gone to attend the send-off of Ms. Rose Namakula, the deceased daughter to ex-katikiro Mulwanyammuli Ssemogerere.

Bobi earlier this year ridiculed all those individuals that disguise as NUP supporters and continue to disparage Buganda Kingdom officials. He literally stressed the person of the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga.

The move of denunciation put Kyagulanyi back on the good side of Buganda’s books. To prove this, the kingdom invited him to attend one of the Kingdom’s events after a long while.

The NUP president had a chance to deliver a speech in which he asked the elderly veteran politicians to groom the younger ones. He revealed that there are so many young people inspired by great men like retired Katikiro Owek Mulwanyamuli Ssemogerere.

Mulwanyamuli commended the youth like Bobi who have stood out against injustice. He said that in their time, they never condoned injustices of any kind.

“We always rose to the occasion and detested injustices of any sort,” he said. “We have to revive that spirit as the people of Uganda,” he guided without going deep into the politics.

Ms. Namakula’s vigil attracted a multitude of mourners from both the central government and Mengo. Some notables include Rt. Hon. Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba and Mityana municipality MP Zaake Francis among others.
