Kato Lubwama Blames President Museveni For Promoters’ Disrespect Towards Musicians

Veteran local comedian, Kato Lubwama, has blamed President Museveni for the continued disrespect of bivulu promoters towards musicians.

It should be noted that these promoters a few days ago released a list showing the fares each artist deserves to perform at a concert.

This list however has been interpreted as a mockery and degrading of musicians. This is because the prices are obscenely deflated by these promoters.

Kato Lubwama who is one of the pioneers of the entertainment industry had Museveni to blame. The former MP says that Museveni did a mistake by inviting these promoters for a meeting with him.

This was during the COVID-19 lockdown when these went to Gulu. Consequently, they were given undeserved money. And since then, these have been disrespecting musicians.

Lubwama added that these promoters should leave artists alone if they can’t afford them.

He said that these promoters are mostly illiterate and don’t understand the dynamics of the industry. Besides most of them have just come into the game and as near as 2000.

“I blame President Museveni for this nonsense of promoters trying to disrespect musicians. Many of these after going to Gulu and collecting money think they can disrespect us. Many are illiterate and think it’s a profession for uneducated people which is wrong. Besides we never had promoters in the 90s and many of them have just come as back as the 2000s. If you can’t afford an artist, leave them alone,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said all these as he appeared in the studio with event promoter Bajjo of Bajjo events. It’s Bajjo who has been majorly pushing this agenda.

Kato Lubwama branded him as stupid and almost beat him in the studios of a local TV station.
