Kayunga District Decides Today, Red Or Yellow

Kayunga district will today decide on who will be their LCV chairperson. The long-awaited day is finally here and it’s the time to know which color Kayunga residents want to paint their town.

This race is mainly between the yellow camp and red camp that is NRM and NUP. The two have been making more news than their counterparts all this time. This makes it look like other parties are not present which is not the case.

The Electoral Commission decided Kayunga should have a by-election after the candidate who had won passed on. Ffefeka Sserubugo apparently committed suicide.

His body was found hanging on a tree around his home. The NUP camp has since been asking for the investigation report which was all in vain. Up until now, no one knows what really happened to Sserubugo.

NUP was however not discouraged and sent another candidate, Harriet Nakweede who is in the race with other candidates. She has been battling it out with NRM’s Andrew Muwonge during campaigns.

Recently, she was reportedly harassed by Police while they were striking over the house arrest of their party President.

Meanwhile, all is set for this day to go on as it should. Obviously, tight security is a must and it’s already in place. However, some people are anticipating chaos because of the way events have been unfolding during the recent days.

Bobi Wine was put under house arrest, tear gas rocked Kayunga a few days ago which justifies people’s fears.
