British media reported that the 38 year old inmate, Okumu Victor was imprisoned at York Crown Court to ten years and 6 months and additional 5 years on license,

The magistrate, who declared his punishment, depicted the Kenyan man as a problem causer who took all he needed.

During court, the magistrate mentioned that Victor had planned this kind of robbery for over eight months; it was not a one day plan.

He committed the offence on 11th March 2019, when he reportedly stormed a jewelry shop while putting on a blue boiler suit and a motorbike helmet with eye-shades.

According to police, he narrowly wedged through the door and jumped over the counter then he quickly started picking jewelry from the display and disappeared.

Victor spent several weeks traveling across the country trying to avoid police, which later reviewed the CCTV camera and found out that the accused had surveyed the jewelry shop for several days.

He was finally arrested by police at a Hotel and they found him with some of the valuables he had stolen from the jewelry shop like rings.

It’s however not the first time Okumu is involving himself in robbery, even in 2009 he sneaked in to a certain woman’s home and stole valuables. He was supposed to be deported back to Kenya, according to what Court had initially ordered, but instead, He was jailed for five years.
