Apparently, in the presence of others, Abdu Wasike laughs, talks, and is joyous. But the moment he’s alone in his house, he feels no emotion at all. He just finds himself drowning in a sea of thoughts alone. Worst of all, he doesn’t know how to confront them.
“I’m in a period of my life where I’m a bit lost. In fact, I’m not even sure I’m sad because in the presence of others, I laugh & talk but as soon as I’m alone in my house, I feel no emotion, nothing. I simply find myself face-to-face with myself. l dive into my thoughts,” he said.
It should be noted that lots of people undergo depression, especially in this digital era. Gadgets are mostly what people have as their friends. They have no social support such as friends to whom they can turn in times of crisis.
Oftentimes, they are left alone to confront their demons and they always end up lost and with ill thoughts. Besides, most people here are yet to understand how to handle or talk to people with depression.
The moment someone opens up, they are usually perceived as weak. Therefore, in a bid to avoid being laughed at and mocked, they always keep to themselves.

Luckily she didn’t but this all the more indicates the need for psychosocial support systems for such people.
