Kigambira Marathon: Joshua Cheptegei To Run In Support Of Wildlife, Local Tourism

Safari Lodge in association with Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has organized the Kigambira Marathon run. The aim is to support wildlife and promote local tourism.

The Kigambira marathon will take place on Saturday 15th January 2022 in the wilderness of Lake Mburo National Park.

The 10/15km race will see Joshua Cheptegei, a Ugandan long-distance runner who is an Olympic Gold Medalist (5000m) take to his heels.

He is also a World Champion (1000m), World Cross Country Champion, and World Record Holder. A number of other dignitaries and public figures are expected to participate in this event.

The requirement for interested parties is a charge of shs 100,000 as a registration fee. The fee will cover park entry, transport, T-shirt and refreshments.

In similar news recently published by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, telecom giant MTN announced that they are going to support Olympic medalist Joshua Cheptegei Foundation fundraising drive with Ugx 100M.

The long-distance runner launched a fundraising event known as #runwithCheptegei. MTN came aboard announcing they will inject 100 million shillings towards this cause.
