King Gafabusa Of Bunyoro Returns Home After Medical Treatment

King Gafabusa of Bunyoro in other words known as Omukama of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Dr Solomon Gafabusa Iguru 1 has returned to his palace Karuziika Hoima after three weeks of treatment in Kampala. The king who was flown back home in a UPDF chopper was being treated for acute cough and flu.

He was welcomed by the prime minister of Bunyoro Kingdom Andrew Byakutaga and other kingdom dignitaries as well as subjects.

At exactly 4:20pm on Tuesday evening, a UPDF chopper was cited in the skies at Booma grounds in Hoima. This attracted excitement from Banyoro subjects.

These subjects had stayed at this location for close to two hours waiting for their king to return to the kingdom. The King had been hospitalized in Kampala for three Weeks.

King Gafabusa was supported by men off the helicopter. Then later supported into his waiting car together with queen Margret Karunga. This moment of excitement attracted multitudes of Banyoro to the extent that security could no longer contain them.

Led by traditional dancers and a police patrol vehicle, the fleet of cars together with the walking crowds that kept increasing. They proceeded slowly through Hoima town to the kingdom palace.

Andrew Byakutaga the kingdom prime was visibly happy for the return of his King.

“I want to thank God, the president who sent his helicopter, but also Bunyoro people for being calm under this trying moment. I’m grateful that he has been discharged,” Byakutaga said.

He asked all religious institutions to continue praying for the king to fully recover and take charge of the kingdom.

“We are close to Friday for Muslims, Saturday for Adventists and Sunday for other Christians. Let’s thank God for healing our king but also pray for him to fully recover so that he can reign,” he stated

I was informed that I needed to have a business with a capital of Shs4m yet my capital was very small.” The chairperson Kisoboka Saving Group in Nawandala Ms. Nakagolo Faith said they were not able to join the program. This is given the many conditions attached. She also asked their woman MP to raise their concerns to the relevant offices. The MP condemned the mode of implementation of the program. She cited that it has turned to benefit the well-off class of women other than the intended group. She further asked the government to intervene saying the current strings attached to the programme are very tight to accommodate a common woman. GROW project is a Government of Uganda initiative that arose out of the need to respond to the needs of women entrepreneurs. This is especially those who want to grow their businesses, sustain their self-employment and create more jobs.
