Singer Mansour Ssemanda alias King Saha has come out to address his recent altercation with the Uganda Police during a performance at the Villa in Bukoto.
Apparently, Saha was invited by Mr Henrie for this musical performance. However, midway through his performance; Mr Henrie came and told him that the OC had told him to leave the stage.
Saha however refused and told them to wait for him to finalize his performance. And if they want to arrest him they could do so.
The Muliranwa singer added that there was a high level of impunity portrayed by the officers. This is because they came with a lot of officers and started swinging around with guns in public.
The singer went ahead to say that he didn’t see the need to create all this chaos. This is because they could have called him if there was a crime he had committed.
Furthermore, King Saha said that he doesn’t even know what his crime is. He was asked if this is due to the fact that he’s been releasing a couple of politically sensitive songs.
He asked where the Police find a problem if an artist decides to support the opposition. Besides, he doesn’t care whether his career is foiled. This is because he didn’t come into this world knowing that he would be a musician. He just wants to stand for what is true according to his opinion.
“I do not know what crime I committed. The officers came and started causing chaos at the event. I don’t see any reason why they should harass me. There is nowhere it is written that a musician should only support the government.”
However, the Police claim that their issue was with how the event was organized and not the singer. They were not informed and it was attracting a lot of disorganization.
