Kisumu, Lango Residents Bang Saucepans To Scare Away COVID-19

The pandemic might end up making some people mad because of over staying in lockdown. Some of the residents of Kisumu and Lango have resorted to enjoying, dancing and hitting jerrycans as well as saucepans to produce sound that will scare away coronavirus.

On Saturday the 4th of April 2020, some residents of Kisumu in Kenya and Lango in Uganda attempted to scare away the virus, which most of them believe was brought to the region by demons. Therefore they instead decided to chase them away while banging saucepans and jerrycans on streets.

In Kenya, people of Obunga in Kisumu chased away the evil spirits between 8pm and 10pm of Friday, 3rd April, and they were attacked by police officers to cool down their anger.

Members of the Luo community describe invisible evil spirits that loiter during the night which if not chased out, they affect the community through diseases like Corona Virus.

The event always attracts women and children who shout and bang metallic items. Don’t forget that apparently, World Wide, its 1,278, 654 cases, 69,758 dead and 266,968 recovered. In Uganda today, only 52 are positive and the East African country hasn’t yet registered any death cases.
