Kyagulanyi And His Group Should Be Very Careful – Hon Ssemujju Nganda

Hon. Ssemujju Nganda has urged Nup Party President, Robert  Kyagulanyi, to be very careful while handling the Kibalama situation. He says if they don’t handle it well, it will come back biting in 2026 and the story may be different.

“Hon. Kyagulanyi and his group must be very careful. You may win Kibalama today and towards elections, you land in the same problems UPC found itself in. Kibalama needs money, but he also has NRM behind him.”

As much as no one should blame NUP, Ssemujju says the party wasn’t formed under normal processes.

“National Unity Platform wasn’t formed under the normal processes. You can blame them, but you need to understand the circumstances under which politics is done in this country. I think Hon. Kyagulanyi saw it would be hard to register a political party at that time, a few months to the Presidential election.”

This battle between the two NUP camps is still ongoing. Both claim to be right because apparently, they followed the law as they should.

However, the Electoral Commission took a stand last week and said, it is only Kyagulanyi’s party they recognize as the NUP party. Kibalama’s camp said Kyagulanyi acquired the party illegally.

However, Ssemujju insists that this is all the plan of the current ruling party to bring down the opposition.
