I Would Choose A Bad Museveni Over Bobi Wine If Given A Chance – Maureen Kyalya

Former presidential aspirant, Maureen Kyalya has come out and said that despite Museveni’s over stay in power, he’s still far better than the newly appointed ‘’People Power’’ leader and legislator Robert Kyagulanyi of Kyadondo East. Kyalya herself who came out in 2016 to oppose president Museveni now says she would choose him any day if given the chance to pick him or Bobi Wine.

According to kyalya, Bobi Wine and his people power supporters stand for violence, intimidation and discrediting Uganda’s image in the eyes of the international community, all in the name of change. Kyalya also said the behaviour by the youth who were chanting people power at the slain officers burial Muhammad Kirumira while chasing government officials was the climax of her rejection towards Bobi Wine’s pressure group and what they stand for.

She also claims that Bobi Wine and group have gone a further step by discrediting even the good things of Uganda at the international level which is humiliating the country

“Obviously, Museveni has overstayed in power but looking at what the people power did at Kirumira’s funeral, I doubt NRM can ever be that violent and insensitive. Personally I want to disassociate with people power and even if chased, booed or stoned I would stand with Y.K Museveni if given the chance”.

So much was done to him (Museveni) by the Obote’s regime and almost everybody around him died, but he never made such a fuss and putting all our dirty linen in public. I’m expecting insults so i will either stand alone or with Y.K Museveni. I do not subscribe with the NRM leadership but neither do I identify with popularism and insensitivity towards the protection of our motherland Uganda,’’ She added’

Bobi wine and the people power pressure group have already received wide criticism of promoting politics of violence and intimidation. This also comes after a section of scholars lashed out at Bobi Wine for his direct involvement of his foreign lawyer Robert Amsterdam who was calling for sanctioning aid to Uganda.
