The captain of the French National football team Kylian Mbappe is over the moon after winning his first trophy with Real Madrid. The 25-year-old added that Los Blancos is the definition of trophies and therefore the best club in the world.
The Frenchman was on the score sheet in the 68th minute for his new club after being set up by Jude Bellingham.
Uruguayan international Fede Verlverde was the first to score for the current UEFA Champions League winners in this Super Cup final in the 59th minute.
“You say Real Madrid, you say trophies”. “It’s the best club in the world,” he said.
It should be noted that the UEFA Super Cup final is played between the winners of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League of the previous season. This is usually at the start of every new season as per the European format.
Italian club Atalanta were the winners of last season’s Europa League. This was after they beat Bayern Leverkusen after a hat-trick by Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman. However, they couldn’t do much against Real Madrid’s super team last night.
Kylian Mbappe will be hoping to win his first Champions League trophy in the Spanish capital. The highest prize in European club football has eluded the former PSG and Monaco starlet for a few years now.
He spent most of his years chasing the trophy at PSG to no avail. Despite some marquee signings such as Neymar and Messi by the Parisiens, they still failed.
The 2018 World Cup winner decided to join the Carlo Ancelotti-led team after his contract in France ran down. He also fulfilled his childhood dream of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu.
