The Electoral Commission (EC) announced that the awaited LC (Local Council) and Women village Committee elections are to take place next month June.

Simon Byabakama Mugenyi the EC Chairman announced that the elections are to take place on 10th June.
He said that the road for the election of the committees will start with the verification of registers starting Friday 22 to Monday, June 25, 2018, followed with the display of registers, and later, the nomination of candidates.
The LC elections were anticipated to take place last year but they did not happen.
The EC last time said that they didn’t have the money to carry out the question.
We hope that this time the elections happen.
