Residents in Masaka town were left shocked after a Local Defense Unit ( LDU officer ) shot dead a boda boda cyclist as a pregnant woman tried to get on his motorbike ready to go.
The yet to be identified LDU officer committed the crime at around 1:15pm along Elgin Street in Masaka town.
The police CCTV camera shows the LDU officer moving close to a pregnant woman who had just sat on a motorbike parked outside Byansi Clinic, he pushed the pregnant woman off and immediately fired live bullets at the bodaboda rider.

One of the witnesses who was heading to Byansi clinic Mr Wamala Mathias said the killer followed the duo to the clinic and back to Elgin street where the motorbike was parked.
The reason as to why the LDU officer killed the bodaboda rider is not yet known.
“A pregnant woman came with the deceased on a motorbike and she entered the clinic, when she moved out to sit on the motorcycle, I saw an Local defence officer following them with a gun, he approached the rider and shot him at close range,” he said.
The deceased’s body was found in a pool of blood after a few minutes. The police took the body to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital mortuary as the police launch investigations into the matter.
