According to Baryomunsi, politicians are putting the people at the risk of getting covid by collecting them in one place. He said those who want to donate should do it through the task force.
“The position of government remains and our guidance still remains. We appreciate those who are concerned about the plight of our people but if they are to give physical food, then they should donate through the task forces”
However, Kasuku, says government should stay away from this because it has apparently failed to help people.
Kasuku adds that people are tired of waiting for Nabbanja’s money which is not reaching them in time. Given that people are at home jobless, it would be unkind to refuse anyone from helping them.
He may have a point or maybe not. Looking at both sides, they are right to say what they are saying. If government says this way of giving out food is exposing people to covid, it’s true.
If Kasuku says people need the food as soon as now, he is also right. Perhaps the government should find a better way of dealing with these situations for the country’s good and their good too.
