Tamale Mirundi Junior recently disclosed the significant financial burden his father, Joseph Tamale Mirundi, carried, spending a staggering amount of Shs15 million per week on medical expenses during his hospitalization.
In a heartfelt statement to the press on August 14, Junior shared President Yoweri Museveni’s counsel to consider seeking medical treatment abroad for his father if they doubted the local care.
Junior acknowledged the delay in making this crucial decision, emphasizing the deep bond he shared with his father.
Despite occasional disagreements, Junior fondly recalled his father as not just a parent but also a confidant and protector.
Mirundi’s unconditional love for his children, his unwavering support, and his equal treatment of all his offspring were traits deeply cherished by his son.
The final farewell and burial arrangements
Tragically, Joseph Tamale Mirundi, the former presidential press secretary and media advisor, passed away at the age of 60 due to lung-related complications.
His son confirmed that the funeral rites would commence on Sunday, August 18, starting with a service at Bunamwaya Catholic Church.
As the community prepares to bid farewell, the funeral procession will journey from Kyengera to Kalagala, Kaliisizo, Rakai District, on Saturday, August 17, for the last mass and burial, honoring the enduring legacy of Joseph Tamale Mirundi.
