The courtroom drama continues today as the trial of Molly Katanga, the alleged mastermind behind her husband Henry Katanga’s untimely demise at their Nakawa Division residence in Kampala District on November 2, 2023, resumes today at the High Court in Kampala.
Since its commencement on July 9, 2024, the trial has witnessed the prosecution presenting four witnesses before Justice Isaac Muwata. However, their case has hit roadblocks as these witnesses have provided contradictory testimonies.

Bugolobi officer’s evolving testimony raises doubts
Wednesday brought another twist as Peter Owang, a police officer stationed at Bugolobi police station, altered his account of the fateful events on November 2, 2023.
Owang’s inconsistencies and omissions have raised questions about the reliability of his testimony and cast doubt on his credibility.
Under the leadership of lawyer MacDosman Kabega, the defense team has diligently exposed the discrepancies and inconsistencies in the witnesses’ statements, chipping away at the strength of the prosecution’s case.

Representing the state are Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Samali Wakooli and Chief State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya.
The defense team comprises Peter Kabatsi, MacDosman Kabega, Jet Tumwebaze, Bruce Musinguzi, and Elison Karuhanga, legal minds ready to fight for justice.
Molly Katanga’s trial extends beyond her as her daughters, Patricia Kankwanzi and Martha Nkwanzi, also face charges related to the destruction of evidence.
Furthermore, the family’s shamba boy, George Amanyire, and medic Charles Otai find themselves in hot water, charged as accessories after the fact.
