Leila Kayondo Confirms She Was Once In An Abusive Relationship

Struggling and faded singer Leila Kayondo has revealed that she was once in an abusive relationship. She said that the person she was dating would inflict violence on her whenever he got angry. And this is just the story for many musicians out there.

However, because they are in the limelight, they usually shield this from coming out in order to save their careers.

The Awo singer added that this same person even left her in the house and got introduced by another woman.

“I have had a hard time dating. I faced a number of challenges including domestic violence. To be honest, I was once in a relationship where my partner would physically abuse me whenever he got angry. But because I’m a musician, I had to prevent this from reaching the media,” she said.

All that she said points to one person, city tycoon, SK Mbuga. The two dated for quite a few years before bitterly breaking up.

The major cause was domestic violence where Mbuga beat up the singer so badly and left her with wounds. Later on, he would ditch her for his current wife, Jalia Birungi.

Kayondo meanwhile has always vehemently denied ever dating the tycoon. She said that they are only family friends. However, when he got married, she was bitter with him.

Meanwhile, the singer sent out a warning to all men out there planning to have a go at her romantically. She said that if they take long to propose, she will marry herself.

However, she added that she’s not single. Although she declined to confirm if she’s in a relationship.
