Musician Eddy Kenzo has advised people to search for music that suits their taste. This is after calls for some musicians to be restrained or some of their songs banned for vulgar and explicit lyrics.
A number of musicians have taken this trend in order to get a quick rise to fame.
Kenzo, however, believes that music is like restaurants. Different restaurants serve different foods. Therefore, if you don’t find what you want to eat, you move on to the rest till you get it.
It’s the same case with music according to the Stamina singer. He pointed out that such songs have been in existence since a long time ago.
They, however, faded out and good music persisted. He said that in his case, even when he did such music, he used to cover it a bit. This is why there weren’t many complaints about him.
Read his statement below;
“Music is like the restaurant business. There are different restaurants that sell different food. If you can’t find what you want to eat, you move on to the next till you get what you want to consume. These songs such as Emboko, Emmese have been in existence for a very long time. However good music always persists and wins. For my case, I had songs such as Sumbusa, Bolingo but I always tried to cover them,” he said.
The Big Talent boss also complimented Ugandan music. He said that it’s the best in East Africa. It’s played more in Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania than the native songs. He therefore believes that it’s just a matter of time before it blows up like Amapiano or Afrobeats.
