Stop Making Songs With Vulgar Lyrics – Nince Henry Tells Musicians

Singer and songwriter Nince Henry has called upon fellow musicians to stop making songs with dirty and vulgar lyrics. According to the singer, this doesn’t add any credibility to one’s brand but rather takes away from it.

He said that he’s done music for over 13 years and he’s never been vulgar. The singer pointed out Dr Jose Chameleone who has been around for over two decades but has clean music

Most singers fail to know the cultural background of where they are and want to imitate everything foreign. The singer added that if they want to sing dirty as Jamaicans, they should then go to Jamaica.

“People should stop entertaining songs with dirty and vulgar lyrics. As a musician, I have never liked this trend. I have been in the industry for thirteen years but I don’t do such kind of music. If you want to do this dirty music copying Jamaicans, then go and sing from there. Take Chameleone as an example, he’s one of the finest but has never done such songs. As an artist, it adds nothing to you,” he said.

A number of songs deemed to be vulgar have been released to the Ugandan airwaves and have actually made it big.

Songs such as Eno Mic by Ziggy Dee, Emboko by the late Master Blaster, Sumbusa by Eddy Kenzo and Barbie Jay, Ensolo Yange by Pandadol wa Basajja.

Some of them were even banned by UCC. In recent times, Okwepicha by Gravity Omutujju among others have all graced their airwaves. However, only a few artists have managed to stay afloat with such songs.
