Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago Reveals Singer Dr Jose Chameleone Is In Deep Troubles

The lord mayor of Kampala city, Erias Lukwago, has revealed that singer Dr. Jose Chameleone is in deep trouble. This follows a gig he absconded from performing in 2015.

Chameleone was contracted by a Ugandan events promoter in South Africa known as Zainah in 2015. He however didn’t show up and promised 2016 but still never showed.

All this cost Zainah lots of money through advertising and paying for tickets for Chameleone among others. The only option left for her was to run to Court but for almost 4 years now, she’s yet to receive justice.

It’s for this reason that when Chameleone touched down in South Africa, she moved swiftly to have him arrested. However, after pleading, he was left to go and perform in Cape Town and come back to Johannesburg and pay.

Lukwago who is Zainah’s lawyer wondered why a big-name artist like Chameleone who is a global brand should be acting in such a dubious manner.

“Chameleone has to know that a case doesn’t get rotten, Zainah put a lot of money in 2 concerts in South Africa and Chameleone didn’t show up. The first was in 2015 and she organized in 4 cities including Durban, Cape Town and 2 others.

Chameleone told her to pay one of the best bands in South Africa and she did. He also told her to pay for all the tickets and even said that he doesn’t sleep in cheap hotels and she cleared all of them. And he didn’t show up, then came 2016. This time he promised to come and sing and compensate for the previous year. He further demanded a business class for him to be paid for together with his various crew members and Zainah further paid.”

The lord mayor also added that Court had fixed another date for them in September. However, when they spotted Jose Chameleone in South Africa, they knew it was then or never.

Attempts were made to arrest him and his hotel room was cordoned off by Police. Chameleone however ran back to his hotel room but they still managed to get him.

While here, he pleaded and even knelt down as he begged Zainah to forgive him.

The Forever singer promised to pay once he finishes his performance in Cape Town. He was left to go to Johannesburg and perform. However, what’s shocking is that Lukwago and Zainah got reports on how he’s planning to escape back to Uganda.

“The case was fixed for 18th September but then luck handed him to us in another country and we decided to use laws elsewhere. When he saw the Police at the Hotel room, he ran back to his hotel like a real Muganda and locked himself inside the room as Police sealed off the entire premise.”

“He then allowed to negotiate and even knelt, the real kneeling practically in front of Zainah and allowed to compensate. He then left for Capetown and promised to come back to Johannesburg and pay after singing and then come back to Uganda. The total costs were Ugx 38 million shillings but the costs rose due to his behavior. We received news that he’s acting corny to try and escape and come back but whatever passes up you lay your trap down,” Lord mayor Lukwago further said.

This is not the first time the Leone Island boss is getting into trouble as such. He’s had a number of promoters fleeced of their money and failed to turn up for performance.
