Lukwago Says Only God’s Intervention Will Save Ugandans From Museveni

Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago has said it is high time Ugandans seek God’s intervention to save the country from Museveni’s regime. Lukwago made these remarks following Museveni’s speech at his swearing-in ceremony. During his speech, Museveni said he would not accept lectures from anyone about democracy during his new term, especially foreigners.

Lukwago expressed how unfortunate it is that Museveni frankly is telling the people of Uganda that he is a life president. He stated that this country needs special prayers so that the almighty God intervenes for the better.

The Lord Mayor further said there are untold human rights abuses taking place in the country as well as extrajudicial killings, among other things. However, the ‘’leader’’ says he does not need any lectures about democracy in such a very undemocratic state.

More to that, Lukwago explained that to his embarrassment, Museveni ridiculed and insulted the people of Uganda when he called them idiots. He also included the international community in his insult.

‘’We need to seek Allah’s intervention because it appears that Mr. Museveni has entrenched a life presidency. The country is in a terrible crisis, it is in a dire situation. We must as a nation, seek for the intervention of the Almighty,’’ Lukwago said.
