Last week on Friday the Minister Betty kamya cancelled the Mayor’s meeting to Malaysia for the reason she didn’t give. The World bank had paid for the Mayor’s ticket to the word Urban forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from February 7 to 13.

Erias lukwago has dragged the kampala minister betty kamya to court aiming on holding her back from being the spearhead of kampala city.

Lord mayor Erias accuses the minister for wanting to sieze his powers over kampala and yet Section 11 of the KCCA Act dresses the executive powers in the office of the lord mayor. Erias also accuses Kamya of taking over division mayors and councillors.

Lukwago said that Kamya has avoided various meetings of which she has been formally invited by the mayor himself. The meetings that the minister has been snubbing aimed at tackling issues that resist the development of Kampala city.

“Kamya’s actions has frustrated my potential to carry out my responsibilities of developing programs and strategies for the development of the capital city,” Lukwago said

Among those affected is the KCCA Metropolitan Physical Planning authority that is a blue print to bringing to order in the capital city.
