Mariam Ndagire Downplays Chances Of Getting Back With Ex John Ssegawa

Veteran singer, actress and playwright Mariam Ndagire has downplayed rumors that she might be getting back with ex, John Ssegawa. This is after she applauded him at the recent iKon Awards.

These happened over the weekend at Kampala Serena Hotel. The awards were for some of the outstanding contributors to the Ugandan film industry. Among those awarded was Mariam Ndagire. She picked up the ‘Best Screenplay’ award for the ‘My Husband’s Wife’ film she wrote.

While getting her award, Ndagire thanked her ex Ssegawa who was in the audience. On top of that, she sent a flying kiss to him something that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Ndagire was asked about this in her post awards gala interview. She watered down these rumors and said that she was just applauding him.

This is because he was one of the pivotal people in her writing career. However, there is nothing that is getting resurrected between them.

She also provided an update about their son and said that he’s all grown up and fine now.

“Oh you mean my speech and appraisal made you people melt? I was appreciating the people who have been key in my film life. And he’s one of those who was present in my life by the time I started writing. I was just glad he was in the house and I thanked him but there is nothing big. Only that our son is now grown and fine.”

Ndagire and Ssegawa were together for a few years actually got married. Ssegawa was however a top city casanova by then and their marriage didn’t last long.
