Madam Maureen made the declaration on her telephone interview with monitor publication.

‘’I will run for presidency in 2021, God willingly. I will come through my political party which is still under registration and hopefully, it will be fully registered by July 2019,’’she said.

In 2016 when she contested, madam Maureen Kyalya was able to get 0.44 percent, equivalent to 40,598 votes. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni managed to take the lead with 60.75 percent, equivalent to 5,617,503 votes and Kiiza Besigye Kiffeffe followed with 35.37 percent, equivalent to 3,270,290 votes in the general election.

Madam Kyalya and Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine are so far the only two candidates to declare publicly. One week ago, the Kyadondo East MP expressed his interest to stand in 2021 presidential elections and he said he’s ready to challenge president Museveni.
