Veteran TV presenter and events MC Edwin Katamba alias MC Kats had quite a long weekend on social media platforms. This all started after he blasted singer Azawi after she criticized Fenon Records/Events.
Azawi took to X and lambasted the events organizers for having poor sound.
“Fenon can’t give a show with a good sound period.”
This opened several opinions both criticizing and supporting the Masavu singer. Among the critics was MC Kats who has always had a long-standing beef with Swangz Avenue to which Azawi is signed to.
Kats said that the singer hasn’t even lasted 10 years in the industry and she wants to ‘climb’ those who have been in the game for more than 20 years.
According to the NBS After 5 presenter, the singer should make at least 10 years before she can have an opinion. And on top of that, her 4-6 hits shouldn’t hype her to think that she’s something that she’s not.
Apparently the TV presenter believes that this attack was instigated by Swangz Avenue as a group on Fenon. This is because they are in the same business.
However, Kats saw several foot soldiers on X attack him. It should be noted that Azawi is in the good books of several millennials and Gen Z’s.
This is because she has been vocal about several issues such as corruption on X. They therefore felt the urge to defend her against Kats and indeed did.
Kats went on the defensive and said that there is no insult that they can say to get under his skin. He advised them to get something new to insult him.
“Dear Foot Soldiers nze there is No word nor Comment you will type or say that can get anywhere to my heart or head. I have heard n seen it all. The dictionary will need new words to Affect me.”
It should be noted that MC Kats is not a singer, has no stake in any such a business as Fenon. The last time he managed an artist, he left her with depression and a baby.
