Meet Robert Smith, The Wealthiest African American Man In US

When you search for the richest African American men in US, you will find Robert F. Smith on top of the list, the 53 year old is an African American investor, the founder and CEO of Vista Equity Partners, an Austin, Texas investment firm with over $15.9 billion in client assets as of October 1, 2015. Smith is number 268th richest man in America, and the richest African-American man with net worth of $2.5 billion fortune, richer than Micheal Jordan, according to forbes.

Smith was born and raised in Denver, Colorado in 1962 and both his parents where school teachers with PhDs, when he grew up as an infant, his mother took him to Washington were he studied high school.

He joined Cornell University were he trained as an engineer earning his B.S in Chemical Engineering. Smith attended other institutions likes Columbia business school, Goldman Sachs in tech investment banking and in Silicon valley were he worked as Co-Head of Enterprise Systems and Storage advising on $50 billion deals for six years from 1994 to 2000.

In the year 2000, Smith created his own company known as Visita Equity Partners which deals in enterprise software, data and technology solutions, currently his company is worth over $15.9 billion.

He is married to a healthy living advocate, fashion editor and model Hope Dworaczyk and they have a young son by the names of Hendrix Robert Smith.

Just of recent, he promised to support all the Nigerian girls who managed to escape from the tyrant group of Boko-Haram, he said he will pay all their school fees and other facilitations. Apart from that, he has also donated to democrats such as Hilary Clinton and Chuck Schumer, the New York Senator.
