Bagoole, younger brother to former Cranes midfielder Johnson Bagoole (R.I.P) got picked after a wonderful display during the 2021 Stanbic Uganda Cup.
He played so well in the semi-final and final rounds. This impressed Coach Micho enough to add him to the squad at the last minute.
For a long time, Bagoole Junior has knocked on the doors of the national team. However, a number of coaches had overlooked him. But now is his break-even moment.
He has played for a number of teams including Sports Club Villa, Busoga United, Kenya’s Sofapaka among other teams.
Other fresh faces on the team include George Kaddu (Wakiso Giants), Express’ Mahad Yaya Kakooza, URA defender Fesali Najib, among others.
They selected Livingstone Mulondo of Vipers as the most outstanding player in the recently concluded Stanbic Uganda Cup.
After the All-Star game between Sam Ssimbwa’s Team Hasule and Mike Mutebi’s Team Kirunda on Monday evening, the team started training officially.
In the meantime, foreign-based players will soon be confirmed to join the locally-based players as the qualifiers draw closer.
