Arteta Praises Raheem Sterling For His Professionalism In Champions League Clash Against Sporting CP

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has commended winger Raheem Sterling for his professionalism in the recent Champions League match against Sporting CP. With the Gunners ahead 5-1, Sterling was set to be substituted in for Bukayo Saka.

He stood on the touchline awaiting the substitution, but in an unusual turn of events, he was instructed to return to the bench. Instead, Gabriel Magalhaes was replaced by Jakub Kiwior.

Mikel Arteta remarked that, fortunately, Sterling responded with a smile. The Spanish coach also noted that the English player has vast experience in football and understands that such situations can occur frequently.

“He had a smile on his face, which was a relief for me! These things happen in football. He has been in the sport for a long time and is aware that it’s beyond my control,” Arteta commented.

Additionally, this evening, Arsenal is set to face Westham in the Premier League at the London Stadium. The Gunners have no room for mistakes as they seek to build on their recent performance. They have scored eight goals in their last two matches while allowing in only one.

A victory would elevate them to second place, two points ahead of City, and leave them six points behind league leaders, Liverpool.

With Liverpool and Manchester City slated to clash tomorrow, Arsenal will aim to seize the opportunity to narrow the gap.
