Firebase singer Mikie Wine has come out to explain the choice of his concert date which coincides with another singer, Gravity Omutujju. It should be noted that Gravity a few days ago announced his Embaga Ya Isma N’amina’ concert that will go down at Lugogo Cricket Oval on the 7th of September.
Two days later, Mikie Wine also announced his own concert dubbed ‘Tusabale Ku Jahazi Pier’ in Munyonyo.
Surprisingly, the concert will be on the same date as Gravity’s. Netizens quickly pointed this out and likened it to malice.
This is because the Okwepicha singer has in the past been at loggerheads with Mikie’s older brother, Bobi Wine. Therefore, there is a conspiracy theory that this is the doing of Firebase to ‘teach the rapper a lesson.’
Mikie Wine has distanced himself from this scuffle. He said that he has been singing at other singer’s concerts. And fans would always ask him when his concert would be.
Besides he had already booked the date as he wanted to hold the concert for his son’s 2nd birthday. But since that date turned out to be a weekday, he pushed it to 7th. He, therefore, hopes to take his son out on this particular date.
“I have sung at a lot of singer’s concerts and fans have been asking me when mine will happen. Therefore, I booked the 7th way back. I had hoped to hold the concert on the 2nd which is my son’s birthday but it was a weekday so I pushed it a week ahead. There is no malice,” he said.
