She said the new equipment will improve the quality of health services country-wide.
“We are here because of service delivery and give quality timely health care to the public. I implore staff to give the best quality care to our patients on daily basis,” Atwine said.
She, therefore, thanked Micro Haem Scientific and medical supplies limited for the donation saying this will supplement current lab services in the country.
“Ministry of health is challenged with of lack of funding to improve laboratory services. However, we need accreditation to work with partners to take care of our patients,” she said.
The ministry of health I saddle with the burden of fighting the spread of Covid-19 in the country. as of today, 70 Ugandans have succumbed to the virus. The cumulative total of those infected is at 7000+.
The Ministry also launched the sickle cell awareness fundraising campaign earlier today. The ministry launched this in partnership with CTI Africa and USCRF-Uganda.

The ministry will use this funds to create a registered for ll sickle cell warriors. It will also help give specialized health care, promote awareness and tele-medicine services using Life health CTC by availing 10,000 smartphones.
