Many Ugandans who got stuck in foreign countries after the ban on international travel due to coronavirus outbreak are crying and pleading to return back home, but because of the unfair pricing of Uganda Airlines some of them are stranded.
Therefore Ugandans are requesting to be fairly priced so that they can meet their families in the country once again. The Airlines requested for 1380USD per person and people complained in the group so they reduced the price to 913 USD per head.
But remember, this is one way flight and this same price applies to kids as well. Ugandans are still complaining that the price is still high and very unfair especially during this pandemic lockdown, where most people are not yet back to work.
Most People are claiming that the Uganda Airlines is using advantage that other Airlines are still not allowed to operate, but remember the planes are for Ugandans and the country at large.
“While your calling it one way ticket, you have to realize that the planes come to pick you up when they are empty. Secondly, this is a business that has to make profits, and when it fails, you are the same people that will be up in the blaming,”One of the Ugandans commented.
‘Our request to the govt is that they schedule flights atleast once amonth for every country where Ugandans are becauze not everyone is ready to come back on that one designiated date and given the fact that H.E said on his rescent address that the airport will open when the situation abroad settles ..! This could then mean next year,’Joseph Ekudo commented.
‘Something to make us proud this whole lockdown is finally, Uganda Airlines…..politics aside,’Marini comented.
The government has however tried to repatriate stranded Ugandans in foreign countries including Dubai, Qatar, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory coast and many other countries. The returnees have paid for their air tickets and hotels where they are quarantined for 14 days.
