The Ministry Of Health on the 4th of June 2021, registered a total of 1247 new cases of covid-19. The second wave of coronavirus is spreading like a bush fire that it seems we no longer have control over it. The cumulative number of cases is now at 51006. However, just as Museveni has been saying, Kampala and Wakiso are in the lead when it comes to cases.
The results quoted by the Ministry of Health indicate that Kampala of the 1247 cases, has 812.
“Kampala (812) Wakiso (113) Luwero (58) Mbarara (38) Gulu (36) Masaka (22) Jinja (17) Mbale (13) Nebbi (11) Buikwe (10) Masindi (10) Dokolo (10) Kalungu (9) Nabitaluk (8) Arua (6) Lira (6) Yumbe (5)and Kasese 4,” the ministry said.
Recently, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the minister of health, said Uganda, Namibia and Zambia are the three African countries with severe resurgence of the COVID-19 infection. Between March and May 2021 only, Uganda has registered 16000 covid cases. Actually, Dr. Aceng has been lamenting that all hospitals are full to capacity. The current move is to prepare Namboole for patients.
This has come just a day to the Presidential address regarding covid. Some schools have already closed down due to the resurgence of this virus. However, most of the offices are now encouraging their workers to operate from home as a way of controlling the spread of this virus. The question is, what new solution is there for this resurgence of the virus.
