FUFA President Moses Magogo Implores Ugandans To Support Local Teams Instead Of European Teams

FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo has implored Ugandans to take some time and energy into supporting their local football teams instead of Europeans teams.

The FUFA president while at a FUFA conference in western Uganda said that he doesn’t understand why Ugandans/Africans support European teams with all their body and soul. This is yet they neglect their own teams locally where they are born and raised.

Additionally, Magogo said that he doesn’t want to be misunderstood as if he doesn’t like European football. He only wants Ugandans to prioritize their local football teams and avoid living in a world of indoctrination.

He added that the local leagues have very talented footballers both male and female. All they lack is the support Ugandans give to European teams.

Magogo also said that the fact that Africans are denied visas to go to these European countries should be proof enough to show where their priorities should be.

Read what he had to say below;

“I don’t want to be misunderstood and honestly I have no problem with people supporting European football. What I am saying is that, supporting foreign football at the expense of Ugandan football is wrong. You are living in the world of indoctrination.”

“We have very talented Ugandan footballers, male and female, who only miss the same kind of support that you give to those Europeans to flourish. Those Europeans don’t care about us. If you doubt, try getting a visa to go to any of those countries – the UK maybe,” he said.

There is no doubt about how much Ugandans/Africans love European football. It’s actually a part of their lives but the same can’t be said of the local teams.
